You’ve entered Mark Ellis Ink, the online HQ of Mark Ellis. Yep, that’s me, looking all writerly.
I’m the author of dozens of science-fiction and thriller novels (with more in the offing) as well as being a comics creator and graphic novelist.
The fans of my work call me an “Adventurist Extraordinarie” (one fan did, anyway) and I try to live up to that!
In a career that has spanned over 25 years, over 50 books and scores of comic stories, the goal I strive to achieve in all of my work is to take the reader on epic journeys filled with blazing action, colorful heroes, heroines, villains and grand adventure.
Under my pen name of James Axler, I created the best-selling Outlanders series in 1996. Published internationally in several different formats and editions by Harlequin Enterprises’s Gold Eagle imprint, Outlanders is the most successful mass-market paperback series of the past 25 years.

I’m also the author of the popular “Lost World” thriller, Cryptozoica…illustrated by Jeff Slemons. The book is available in TPB and ebook editions at all online bookstores and brick-and-mortar outlets.

Other recent novels include The Spur: Loki’s Rock which has been described as “Firefly crossed with The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.”
Then there’s The Falcon: Resurrected, featuring the revival of the very popular action-adventure hero from the 30s and 40s. It is also available as TPB and ebook edition.
I also have a Kindle-exclusive novella: Rag Baby, the first in my Florida hard-boiled mystery series featuring Bonaparte “Bone” Mizell. It’s also available as audio book. If you’re a fan of Justified, you’ll find a lot to like in Rag Baby.
As I stated above, I’m also a comics creator, with past work on such acclaimed series as Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, The Wild Wild West, Death Hawk, HP Lovecraft’s Cthulhu and many others.
I’ve come back to that medium with the explosive return of The Justice Machine, the first and one of the most popular super-team titles of the independent comics era.
You can find out more about all of these projects–and upcoming ones–by perusing my most recent blog entries.
